Winter Fair to Feature State Fair Food Staples Along with New Tastes

Craving a Pizze Fritte? There’s no need to wait until August because this signature State Fair food and several others are on the menu for Winter Fair, February 8 - 10 in the new Exposition Center of the New York State Fairgrounds. Among the more than 30 food providers are other Fair staples such as Henry’s Hen House, Bosco’s and Moose Joose Slush.

There will be other tastes from well-known area businesses such as Limp Lizard, Glazed and Confused, Otro Cinco and The Chef and the Cook.

“We’ve got a great lineup of food, with something to satisfy everyone. It’s a mix of the familiar and the new and it’s going to help make the new Winter Fair a day to remember,” said Steve Becker of Premier Promotions, the company that is operating Winter Fair with assistance from the Great New York State Fair.

In addition, the Indoor Midway will feature some food booths. Vendors are subject to change and others may be added.

Winter Fair will also feature nearly 70 booths with merchandise for sale or information available on important issues and services. A complete list of vendors is available on the Winter Fair website. Winter Fair’s stage will host 17 free performances and the groups that operate the State Fair’s annual Indian Village and Pan-African Village will create mini-villages for the festival as well.

Winter Fair runs 3 p.m. - 11 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. on Saturday and Noon - 8 p.m. on Sunday. Pre-sale admission is $4 for adults and $2 for seniors age 60 and above and for teens ages 13-17. Children 12 and under are free. A small service fee is added to each ticket, which can be purchased here. At the gate, tickets will be $6 for adults, $4 for seniors and teens and only cash will be accepted. There is no free re-entry.
